Choccywoccydoodah!!

Maybe you already know Choccywoccydoodah... maybe you have visited their shop in Brighton or in London, or you are a follower of their TV show... but, anyway, if you LOVE CHOCOLATE this is your post! xD
Personally I'm a chocaholic, I'm addicted to chocolate (in any colour and in any size)... and, living in London, I always love to pay a visit at Choccywoccydoodah as soon as I can (you can find this fantastic place in 30-32 Fouberts Place, W1F 7PS... so you can enjoy shopping in Carnaby Street and than you can taste chocolate relaxing yourself)!
I don't know what I prefer... if a slice of cake, or a sundae or a banana split... but what I know for sure is it that every time I'm sitting in their eccentric, decadent Room, I know that I'm going to enjoy the experience!
Yesterday I was at Choccywoccydoodah with my sisters and a dear friend of mine, and our table was covered in delicacies. Give a look to the pictures if you don't believe me! xD
The greatest thing is that before tasting a slice of cake your senses have already been filled with the sight of the amazing cakes (well, in this case "cake" it is a "diminutive" word! xD) that are exposed on the First Floor... so you feel like you were exploring a chocoholic Wonderland!!

E... a proposito di cioccolata... buona Pasqua!!
Happy Easter Everyone!!

Little details...

I'm not a major fan of rings; unless they are strange, with strange shapes, snake-like, and/or huge.
Having said that... I like a lot animal rings, especially silvery ones... little details that can make your style exquisite! xD
This birdie ring came from the Camden markets.

Springy Nail Polish!

If you have read my post about my favourite nail polish so far, maybe you have already noticed that I'm in love with nail polishes with special and peculiar textures!
Yesterday I bought a "Textured Nail Effects Nail Paints" by BarryM (£3.99), the yellow one (TNP2 Station Road 304)...
It remind me partially of my beloved "Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer" by Kiko; and, truth to be told, I bought the yellow one because of the glitters inside... but I'd rather like it with MORE and more noticeable glitters! In the "Sugar Mat Lacquer" what I love it is exactly the contrast between the matte finish and the sparkling glitters, proof is that I have taken all the glittered shades and left behind the plain colors!
Anyway you can't have everything in life! xD And I'm NOT complaining!!
You know what? I like a lot also the "Textured Nail Effects Nail Paints" by BarryM, now that I have tried it!
It is sold in four pastel & springy shades; and, as I said and if I'm not completely wrong, the only one with glitter is the one I possess.
I don't know exactly why, but these nail polishes reminds me of a beach... of nice days spent in the sun, of Spring and Summer, ice cream and young happiness...

Spring plans!

Oh, lazy saturday!
Today I woke up with my sister yelling about snow, and yep it was snowing! Probably, if you have spent your life in a Country acquainted to snow this is nothing; but if you have grown up in a place where snow never falls... well, every single snowflake is like a ride on a merry-go-round! It is magic, more so if you consider that it is Spring, and that in one week it will be Easter.
Easter, Easter, Easter...
I'm starting to think to whatever I'll cook that day; and I already have a few recipes dancing in my head (as you have probably noticed, I enjoy a lot cooking)! xD But, well, more likely I'll have no guests to play host, so I'm not going to exercise a major role as chef of the day. Sigh, thats a little boring.
Anyway, I must remember to go and fetch some chocolate eggs to my sisters; and... uh, I have discovered that in UK, in general, chocolate eggs do not contain any present! That's bad, guys!! xDDD It should be ALWAYS a surprise inside a egg!!
Another thing I realized is that, even if I'm not the kind of religious person (well, I'm in my really really really own way)... I'm going to miss the traditional rites of Easter that we are used to in Italy, and expecially in South Italy.
But I'm not complaining! ;-) I'll do something, I'll find a way to celebrate even if I'm a little geographycally distant from friends and bla blah.
Uh, and it is less than a month to my birthday (yeah!); so I have to plan how to realize my cake and what to ask as a present to my sisters (this was my last year's cake)! Ehehe!!
In November I have visited the Harry Potter Studios in Leavesden (I'm such a fangirl, geez!)... and I have enjoyed, oh, SO enjoyed the experience that I'm thinking to come back and visit the place a second time for my birthday!
As you can very well see I have plenty of things to think at in these days... ;-)

Fav Gloss...

Super quick and super short post.... after my fav lipstick, I thought it is a good time to show you my favorite red gloss: Candy Apple by Lime Crime (this one)!
It is deep red, with a lot of crimson glitters; definitely I love it as I love all the products by Lime Crime! xD They are so... so... sexy, funny, and colourful!

This hunger for sweets...

I'm officially craving for sweets; big sweets, little sweets, all the sweets of the world...
On the 19th of March in Italy usually we celebrate  Father's Day and the catholic festivity of Saint Joseph's; usually, round where I lived (near Naples) we used to eat a traditional sweet called "zeppola"... so now I'm really, really sad because I want a zeppola and I cant' eat it, unless I  decide to cook it by myself. Well, definitely I can do that, but then? I can imagine my kitchen covered in hundred of zeppole... -.- Yeah, I'm quite the greedy and glutton type! xD
So, probably, all I can do is to remember the zeppola I have eaten before leaving (only four, five days ago? xD)... sigh.
If I have intrigued you, why you don't check the zeppola's recipe and give it a try? ;-)

Never without... Suedeberry by Lime Crime

My favorite lipstick at the moment is Suedeberry by Lime Crime (this one); I find it magic!! I really love the shade, and it stay on my lips forever. Yeah, FOREVER! And it feels really like velvet...
Amazing it is the only word I can use to describe it; and "amazing" is not usually the kind of word I could use just for a lipstick!
So, believe me, if you give it a try you will love it for sure! And then you'll think: "never without"...

You know what? After using "Suedeberry"... you feel a little more like... Marilyn Monroe (even if you are not blonde at all! xD)!

Oggi me ne sono ricordata!!

Beauty Mask #1

I'm a lover of face masks, they are great when you just want to relax (and for making a favour to your skin! xD)!
Last one I've tried is "Yes to Tomatoes Clearing Facial Mask"... and I've loved it! After using this mask my skin feels really moisturized, refreshed. And I was really, really in need for a little treat after spending last hours at the airport, dragging my extra-heavy luggage along the way back home. Yep, I'm back in London; and I'm equally happy and nostalgic... I've plenty of things to do but I just want to sit down and drink an awful lot of cups of tea enjoying a book. Or maybe... I want to sleep, and sleep again.
But all I can do is to benefit from few relaxing minutes with a beauty mask on my face! xD How sad... well, that's all for now, I'm going to unpack by baggage...
But, mm, if you too want to have a good time relaxing and cleaning your skin, but you haven't a pre-made mask at home, you can make your own with few ingredients like I show you in this video (sorry, the audio is just in Italian, but everything is, however, comprehensible!)!
Enjoy your happy time, and until the next time... bye!

Yummy time!

"Tagliatelle" with dried mushrooms and sausage... oh so yummy!

This is one of my favourite recipes...  I like to cook it when I'm a little depressed; after few bites happiness finds its way to you... xD Buon appetito!!

Random talk...

Today I was expected to come back in London... but surprise!
This morning my flight has been cancelled due to bad weather that is striking Europe. So I'm stuck in Italy.
Don't misunderstand me: I'm so happy to spend some more days in my house, surrounded by my things... it is just... I don't know. I have to go anyway, so I'm just prolonging my departure and this is a little bittersweet.
But, well, I'm going to spend this days eating a lot of ice cream; today I'm signed for an ice cream brioche with loads of cream! xD I can't said this displease me! And I can visit more the cemetery: this is really good, because I always miss going whenever I want on my beloved ones' graves when I'm in London.
Well, c'est la vie.
Sooo... I'm here! And I'm thinking to cook something good, and to post  a few recipes on these pages. And, mm,  probably I may watch live the election of the new Pope (yeah, I love all that ancient ceremonial. I'm a history lover! ) whilst I'm here... definitely I can see the glass half full! I will have plenty of things to do before coming back in London.
And, just to have a little random talk... someone has watched "Oz the Great and Powerful" (I was thinking to an evening out with cinema & pizza)?! I'm really skeptic about watching it. I had bad feedback from friends; they said the movie was quite boring. And, anyway, I was really, really doubtful since the first time I heard of this movie. It seems to be not my cup of tea; just all smoke...
Probably I'm not going to see it at all. But if I  had the occasion I would be really, really, really happy to watch Cloud Atlas for the 4th time; it seems to me one of those uncommon, intelligent movies you can't avoid to love.
But for now... over and bye! xD

Volcanic... nail polish!

I have a new total, absolute favorite nail polish ever!
It is a Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer by Kiko, n° 646 Starry Black; I love it. Actually I totally worship it! xD
It reminds me of some volcanic minerals (that I love: I adore volcanos and all the things that are related to them, and by the way I was born near a big one! xD)
As you can see in one of the pictures, the little statue that I have in my hand is exactly made in this volcanic material, and it is identical to my nail polish!
I'm going to build a little altar to better worship it; it is ages since the last time I have bought something that I have loved so much!
I love the color, I love the effect, I love the texture... probably I will never wear a different nail polish! xD

Eating out in London: a taste of bibimbap!

After my worst plane flight ever... I suppose I can find the strength (xD) to update this blog (better late than never) with a little review from my latest evening out in London!
Who knows me well is conscious that I love etnic food in general! Well, I suppose that I'm an enthusiastic and curious eater, and I could eat almost everything... even now, after that terrible and sickening flight! However, I'm pretty able to be picky when I select a place to dine in, or a dish to remember.
What I'm generally looking foward to is a nice and confortable place where you can dine well and in economy.
I don't like restaurants where food its more appearance than substance, or where I'm supposed to spend an amount of money that I find ridiculously high and for no reason! After all, if I wanted to be a little posh, I could cook myself a stunning dinner being sure that everything on my table is perfect, no need to go out!
When I'm dining out I'm always searching for something new, and for something able to surprise me... to tickle my curiosity.

Few evenings ago, with some friends, we decided to pay a visit to a Korean restaurant  near Tottenham Court Rd Station; possibly the look of the place was not special, not really grand, just... dingy! xD But I've find it pleasantly intimate, in a way; or maybe I was just happy because of my friends and I haven't really tought to the dinginess! xD
It was my first time with Korean food, and we werethere with the idea of trying the "Bibimbap".
The bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish, served in a stony, very warm bowl; I choose the spicy chicken version, whereas my sister chooses the spicy pork one! Super yummy!
They serves you the bibimbap in this really nice bowl, in wich you can hear the rice fizzle! xD Then you can stir it with the meat and all the vegetables (and don't forget the fried egg on top)!
I've enjoyed it so much, that I'm planning to come back and take another round at it as soon as possible!
Although I'm quite tempted to try different recipes, to get better acquainted with other Korean dishes, I feel that tasting again the bibimbap will be an imperative request from my tummy! ;-)
As regard to the cost (considering that I was really sated after my good bowl and I haven't feel the need to eat other things) it was around 10 £.
If you have the occasion to try the bibimbap let me know what do you think of it, and what is your favorite place to enjoy it in London!
